According to Ukrainian police and the Foreign Office, two British nationals have gone missing in the region of Donetsk, Ukraine. Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Parry were doing voluntary work and were last seen on the 6th of January travelling to Soledar, where there has recently been intense fighting. Neither of the two men have been heard from since the 6th of January (at the time of writing). A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the families of two British men who have gone missing in Ukraine.” Cristopher Parry travelled to Ukraine with the aim of helping war efforts by doing humanitarian work and has recently been helping with citizen evacuations.
Parry has written in his online crowdfunding page about raising money for vehicle repairs, fuel and equipment to help evacuate civilians, and gave examples of helping children and families to flee the front line.
Andrew Bagshaw, a New Zealand resident, has been delivering food and medicines and assisting elderly people move from where there was a lot of conflict.
