Spring Arrivals at St Augustine’s Farm

By Lucia McQuillan-Puccetti

As the days grow longer and the school grounds brighten with daffodils, spring has brought a renewed sense of life to St Augustine’s Priory – especially down on the farm.

Just a few weeks ago, we were delighted to welcome broadcaster and author Clare Balding, who visited the school farm and met with students to hear more about their work with the animals. Her visit came at an exciting time, as we had just welcomed two new lambs, Buttons and Bambi, who have since grown more confident and curious by the day.

Since then, there’s been even more new life. Our guinea pigs have had babies, and most recently, five ducklings arrived from a local school and are already making themselves at home.

Looking ahead, we’re expecting three more lambs to be born, and baby goats are due to arrive soon as well. With so much happening, the farm continues to be a much-loved space for learning, reflection, and connection with nature.

Spring at St Augustine’s is never quiet – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
