Festive Highlights at St Augustine’s Priory

Christmas Fair

These last couple of weeks have been filled with joy and anticipation as we all look forward to the Christmas holidays. On Friday 6th December the school hosted the Christmas fair, with a variety of different activities and stalls – from craft making and face painting, to waffle stalls, a magician and Santa’s grotto, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Carol Service

On Tuesday 10th December we had our annual carol service led by Dr Higgins and Mrs Warren, which began with a beautiful procession involving wonderful models made by the Art Department. Senior school musicians accompanied the organ (including violins, flutes, clarinets and cellos) and the Prep Choir, Chamber Choir and readers also participated. Once again the carol service was joined by the choir from Ste Marie de Neuilly, St Augustine’s sister school in Paris. In the New Year some of St Augustine’s music groups will visit Paris in return to perform in a music concert. It was a magical evening, filled with music and celebration, which raised more than £1,000 for the charities Bakhita House and Brass for Africa, and which certainly filled everyone with the Christmas spirit!

Spreading Joy at St Anselm’s

The week finished off with Year 12s (and Mr Stylianou as Father Christmas) going to St Anselm’s Catholic Primary School in Southall to deliver almost 500 presents generously donated by our school community. Seeing the children’s joy made the effort of wrapping the gifts more than worthwhile!
